So I’ve finally purchased a new van! Well, it’s not exactly new, but it’s new to me and I am so excited! She’s a 2000 Chevy Express 3500 with a 5.7L v8 and only 118,000 miles. I think I’ll call her Vangelica, after the flower that grows wild around New England.

There’s a lot to do to get things rolling, but it’ll be an enjoyable process. First things first, got to get her registered, inspected, and have all the necessary repairs done. There generally will be a lot of unseen expenses on top of the asking price when buying a vehicle. Taxes, repairs, insurance, accessories, etc will all add up quick, but if you have that in mind when you budget, it’s not as intimidating. I’ve tried my best to prevent sticker shock for myself. Yet still, like a lot of things in life, you never fully know what you’re getting into until you’re in it. So far, this feels really good.
